Commercial Pilot

A Commercial Pilot's License (CPL) is a certification that allows individuals to fly aircraft for compensation or hire. It is a step above a private pilot’s license and requires more extensive training, including a minimum number of flight hours, for $250.00, as well as passing written exams and practical flight tests. The CPL qualifies pilots to work for airlines, charter companies, flight schools, or other aviation businesses. It also allows for operations in more complex airspace and conditions than a private pilot’s license permits. To obtain a CPL, pilots must also have a medical certificate, demonstrate proficiency in various maneuvers, and meet the required experience levels set by aviation authorities, like the FAA in the U.S
