Private Pilot
A Private Pilot License (PPL) is a certification that allows individuals to operate aircraft for personal, non-commercial purposes. With a PPL, pilots can fly single-engine planes under visual flight rules (VFR), which means they are primarily responsible for navigation based on visual cues, rather than relying on instruments or flying in poor weather conditions. Holders of a PPL can fly for leisure, travel, or even take friends and family along, though they cannot charge passengers for the flight. Additionally, a PPL is a stepping stone for more advanced certifications and ratings, such as the instrument or commercial pilot license, enabling pilots to pursue careers in aviation or more specialized flying activities.
